When it comes to Michigan roads, we are in a crisis situation. Investment in our infrastructure needs to be made sooner rather than later. Better roads are safer roads!

As stewards of our state’s public works, we are proud of the infrastructure legacy that has been entrusted to us, and we are very encouraged by Governor Snyder’s efforts to repair Michigan’s deteriorating roads.

People across Michigan are speaking out in support of investing to finally fix Michigan’s roads, which would save money and save lives.

“Our members are ready to get to work fixing our roads and bridges to help rebuild Michigan’s economy.”

At last year’s county Farm Bureau annual meetings, Michigan Farm Bureau members identified funding of roads and bridges as a top issue of concern/focus when surveyed about Michigan’s Ag Plan (MAP).

The time is now to save money, save lives and just fix the roads. Our broad based coalition – at a time when Lansing is as divided as ever – is proof of the widespread grassroots support for fixing our roads now. We are ready to partner with the Governor and Legislature to support a comprehensive solution now that will fix our roads.

“It’s time to fix our roads and rebuild our infrastructure so Michigan is again attractive to employers and a talented workforce.”

The speech will be delivered at 7 pm ET from the State Capitol in Lansing. It will be broadcast on major TV and radio stations across Michigan, and will also be livestreamed online.

The state gasoline tax hasn’t gone up in 15 years and the revenues it generated have been on a 10-year decline.

We don’t have Democratic roads or Republican roads; we have MICHIGAN roads – and they are in terrible shape.
