As the legislature continues to debate Governor Snyder’s proposal to fix Michigan’s crumbling transportation infrastructure, Michiganders must make one thing crystal clear.

Repairing Michigan’s roads should be a top priority for everyone in Michigan.

It is now time for us to take the discussion about increased infrastructure spending for roads and bridges out of the political context and begin discussing how we as a state can become more competitive.

The Michigan Transportation Team (MTT) today thanked leaders in the Senate, specifically Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville, (R- Monroe), Sen. Roger Kahn (R-Saginaw Township) and Sen. John Pappageorge (R-Troy) for introducing legislation in parallel with Governor Snyder’s state of the state address that will provide much needed increased transportation funding.

Michigan Chamber: “The governor has put forth a reasonable proposal: save time, save money, save lives, and create 11,000 new jobs for Michigan residents.”

Mark Schauer: “There will be 11,000 jobs created by making an investment in our roads, bridges, transit and infrastructure.”

Wyoming City Manager: “It is far past time to find a solution to this out of control issue. Let’s find the funding and let’s fix our roads.”
