Governor Snyder brings his relentlessly positive outlook about road funding to Holland, MIch.

Manufacturers and growers depend on a quality transportation system to get their products to market, and one-third of Michigan’s roads are already crumbling in poor condition.

Leaders of nine business organizations representing tens of thousands of members across the state urged legislators today to increase investment in Michigan’s crumbling transportation system.

In an interview with ABC 10, Michigan budget director John Nixon spoke about the need for road funding.

John Nixon says Michigan residents pay an average of $81 per year more for car repairs than drivers in neighboring states,

We urge the Legislature to take up this challenge and pass legislation this year. Let’s turnaround our economy by supporting increased funding for transportation!

The Pure Michigan campaign is driving thousands of families to visit our state, but if our roads and bridges aren’t repaired, many won’t be coming back.

Michigan’s gas tax - last adjusted in 1997 - doesn’t repair as many roads as it used to, thanks to the effect of inflation on repair materials.
