The Michigan Townships Association supports fixing our roads now per a recently released press release.

“To increase the rate of Michigan’s economic growth and reduce driving-related injuries and deaths, the Michigan Townships Association (MTA) urges the Michigan Legislature to address the funding needs of the state’s road system. MTA adopted a new transportation funding policy at its 60th annual statewide education conference in Detroit to support that goal.” — From Michigan Townships Association press release

“We need to modernize Michigan’s transportation funding system to ensure we are using existing transportation revenues to maintain and improve our roads and provide new funding to fix our roads,” said Larry Merrill, MTA executive director. “A good road system is in the best interests of township residents and is critical to future economic growth. The Michigan Townships Association stands ready to partner with the Legislature to develop a comprehensive solution to fund our roads and bridges.” — Larry Merrill, Michigan Townships Association, executive director
