Michigan Association of Counties: Fix The Roads in Michigan!

The Michigan Association of Counties (MAC) – which represents all 83 Michigan counties – supports fixing our roads now. Here are a few quotes from MAC’s leadership on the need to fix our roads now:
“Michigan has some of the poorest roads in the nation, and that costs our residents money. This issue needs to be addressed in upcoming legislation.” MAC Board Member Toni Moceri, Macomb County
“Funding needs to be provided to fix the roads in our state. Our economy can’t recover without a solid infrastructure, which our roads are a huge part of. New business is not going to be traveling north without a safe and cared after system of roads, and that will hurt northern counties tremendously in the future.” MAC Board of Directors 1st Vice President Shelley Pinkelman, Crawford County.
“Michigan roads aren’t safe, and it is just going to get worse if we don’t start fixing it now. Being a police officer, I see a lot of accidents that are caused by the poor condition of the roads that could be avoided.” – MAC Board of Directors 2nd Vice President Jon Campbell, Allegan County
“Investing in Michigan’s roads and bridges is just sound economic policy. It is going to be rough keeping the economy of the U.P. afloat if people are afraid to drive that far and cross a bridge due to poor maintenance.” MAC Board Member Jerry Doucette, Alger County
